Shawn Mackey’s Role at Legacy Realty of Iowa
Shawn Mackey joined Legacy Realty of Iowa in 2024 as the Director of Lead Operations. From the start, he dived deeply into building our referral business from the ground up, a task that demands both patience and perseverance. Reflecting on his experience, Shawn says, “My job evolves each and every day,” emphasizing the ever-changing nature of his role in this dynamic industry.
What Shawn Finds Most Fulfilling
For Shawn, the most fulfilling aspects of his job are “being a part of something new and special and seeing it grow” and “helping the agents expand their business.” His passion for growth and his commitment to the success of our agents show in everything he does. Furthermore, Shawn’s dedication to nurturing these relationships continues to drive his work forward.
A Memorable Milestone
One particularly rewarding experience for Shawn was when he received “our first competing corporate listing and our agent winning that listing.” This milestone was not only a significant achievement for Legacy Realty but also a moment of pride for Shawn and the entire team. Moreover, it validated the hard work and dedication everyone had put into their roles.

Motivation and Belief in the Vision
What motivates Shawn to come to work every day? It’s “the people” and his strong belief in “the vision and what is coming for this company and our agents in the future.” For Shawn, culture is key: “Culture is very important to me and we have a great culture.” This positive environment fuels his dedication to helping Legacy Realty achieve its goals. Additionally, it’s the driving force behind his constant innovation and enthusiasm.
Outside of work, Shawn is a proud father of three daughters and the only male in his household. He has attended “hundreds of gymnastics, dance, volleyball, and track competitions all over the country.” Sports are a big part of his life, and he’s someone who “loves to have fun and joke around.” As Shawn puts it, “Life is too short not to have fun.” Therefore, he brings that same vibrant energy to his work at Legacy Realty.
